Day -10 – Prayers Needed
Today started off great, we slept last night and K didn’t have the horrible side effects from the chemo. At one point she looked like a dalmatian with spots all over but Benadryl was a quick fix. This morning we watched a movie and laughed and laughed and then K started coughing up blood again. Honestly I figured no big deal they will just increase the threshold for transfusing platelets but no. The attending moved quickly trying to pull records from Cook’s and called her ENT to try to understand what she saw in her surgery in March that took care of the bleeding but she is on a sabbatical and could not reach her 🙁 She will get chemo tonight but the next chemo drug was supposed to start at 4 am this morning and since they know she is bleeding they cannot start it. We are waiting on ENT to come up and see if they can get a scope down to see the bleed and for the head of this protocol to see if they can run the next two chemos concurrently. If they cannot fix the bleed today and the chemos cannot run concurrently the bone marrow transplant will be delayed. Obviously this is an issue because the campath has already wiped out one of her white cell lines and the bone marrow donation is dependent upon the unknown gracious donor and her schedule. Please pray that they figure out and are able to fix this bleed so we can continue on schedule.

Does this ever stop for you three? Seems as though it’s one thing after another. I give K all the credit in the world. She must feel like a gigantic pin cushion. Sending lots of hugs to you all including Stich from the For-Pause gang.
Remembered Kimbell in my prayers at Mass today. I will continue to pray! (((( hugs))))

Dear Lord, please let the bleeding stop and the next 2 chemos to run concurrently. Please guide the doctors and let the process continue, so Kimbell can begin with BMT as scheduled.
