The last few days have been a whirlwind! Thanks to Terri Lynn and SCS they are having a “Karing for Kimbell” day on May 20th. That is also the day that everyone needs to go eat Mama’s and part of the profits will go towards K’s bills. We are so blessed.
Last night we went to the Disney Store to see if they had the dress K wanted for her Make a Wish trip. While we were checking out K was talking to the woman and she asked I minded telling her why K was getting a Make A Wish trip. I told her and she said my brother just finished donating marrow for a little girl! I about fell over and gave her K’s website so hopefully he could see how important his selfless act is to those of us waiting. What a wonderful man. If you are reading this sir, I don’t know who you donated to but words will never be able to convey how much your bone marrow means to that family. You have given their child a chance at life, a chance to be a normal kid again, to laugh, to play and to love. God Bless you.
Donor Update – The potential donor is having her physical exam at the end of next week. Please pray for her, for her health, guidance and well everything. They are at the same time looking for a backup donor. One person responded and had their blood taken on 5/7. We are waiting on the results to find out if he/her will go for a physical exam as well. So in short we are still on schedule.
We leave for the wish trip in less then 48 hours. It is becoming overwhelming to say the least. Yesterday when Mr. Kirk sent out the email to the school about K I literally stopped because reality can hit you really hard. In two days I’m most likely saying goodbye to our home for the next 5-6 months maybe more. I’m taking my precious child to have a blast and make lasting memories before she starts chemo. Her last day at school is in two days. I think we are all struggling, she is super tired, emotional and just trying to digest everything. Me I’m thankful I’ve had Ruth helping me or I’d really be a wreck. John well he deals with things in his own way too. More then anything though I pray to God that he guides the physicians, nurses, courier and donor and that he give Kimbell a healthy life.
Speaking of prayers, please pray for my friend Donna. Her mother has cancer and all I can say is if you know Donna then you know what an amazing spectacular woman she is. Her family is no different and she has had a rough couple of years. Donna’s mom needs a miracle and Donna deserves some happiness. So if you could it would mean the world to me.
Well back to work I go. I have no clue how we are ever going to be ready for the wish trip and MN in less then 48 hours!
