Positive cultures, blood infection and more hospital time… Day 46 update!

Kimbell has a tough day today inpatient.  She has been in quite a bit of pain in her head and back as well as severe nausea/vomiting.  It’s been tough to keep anything down her and she won’t hardly eat or drink again.  Man, it seems like we took a 4 week rewind!!!

This afternoon the doc came in and let us know that Kimbell’s central line tested positive for a bacterial infection in her blood… If you recall the last one she had about a month ago, they are nasty critters…. her counts today are 1/3 of what they were yesterday across all cell lines and she’ll likely have to be transfused tonight or tomorrow morning.  Please say big prayers that things start looking better.

As you all know, Kimell’s 10th birthday is Tuesday the 19th… She is soooo pumped and her best friend from Texas “S” & Mom came to see us today.  That certainly lightened Kimbell’s sad mood as it was soooo good to see them!  Kimbell is extremely bummed that she will be in the hospital for her birthday, but fortunately understands a bit that she needs to be healthy to have many more birthday’s out of the hospital…
